The video was placed on youtube to gain sympathy for fathers rights. Little is said about why he was not allowed to see the children or his aggressive behavior on live television.

Oh that's brilliant! You haven't seen your son for 12 yrs and when you do, you decided to set yourself on fire because you are desperate??? HHHMMM...makes ya wonder WHY he didn't see his son until he was 18. Oh, no on second thought...it doesn't make me wonder at all!
